Can Couples Be Incompatable

I believe couples can be incompatible my Mum and Step Dad were. My Mum had me and my brother no problems but when she split with my Dad and met my Step Dad they wanted children and went through tests etc but they just werent compatible.

Also a friend of mine had been with her boyfriend for 4 years and they had been trying with no success she then had a one night stand and fell pregnant. She tried to convince people it was her boyfriends but it was so obvious it wasnt and she has since had paternity tests which has proved it.

This seems rather ridiculous to me, the mere fact of incompatability causing couples not to be able to conceive? I know it looks that way but the fact is so many people are infertile or have hard times conceiving that you just don't know. Perhaps it's just mere coincidence?

I would have to say that couples can be incompatable, its strange when you try with some one and nothing happens but if you meet some one else you can catch easily.
