Default Alex's Parents Evening.

Hi All,

I have Alex's parents evening tomorrow night hopefully he's doing well I am hoping so anyway.

Good job that my friend text me to let me know that parents evening was being done because with Alex being off I would not know. I called the school and have now been given a time slot which suits me so I am pleased.

Will let you all know how he gets on.

Shell xx

I bet he's doing brilliantly! Let us all know how you get on.
Ollie had his a few weeks ago and I was sooo thrilled with him. It's amazing what our kids can do at such a young age!

Well I will be going in a bit but I am sure they tell us what he's not very good at either but hopefully since the last one I will see some improvements.

Clare - Dont forget to start a thread and let me know how you got on with Ryan.

Hi All,

Well I have been to parents evening and it was ok, to be honest they brought up the fact I had taken him on holiday and also brought up the fact that he is off school now which got my back up and upset. I said to them that he's had an operation and not just a cough and cold he's been really poorly and that he's had stitches and its out of my control. To get the response that he's going to fall more behind because of the amount of time he's having off. He's been off 6 days and I cant do anything about it. The thing that really gets my back up they knew he was going into hospital for an operation so why not send some work home for him.

They said that he lacks confidence when he is writing and that he sometimes finds it difficult to write a sentence. They said that he likes someone with him and is always asking if he is doing it right but if he gets something wrong he feel really bad about it. They said to encourage him more, I give him rewards at home we sit down and do things together.

They did say he is so thoughtful towards others but I was talking to his teacher and then I was speaking to his RML teacher whose gave me some bits to come home with.

The strange thing is they said about him doing sentences so when I came home I said to him Alex can you write " A dog is sad" and he wrote it and then he sat there whilst I was on the phone and wrote " a cat is sittin, admittenly he had missed the g off and had not done a capital but he still did it and they had been saying different and it just upset me thats all.

I'm not a teacher I am a Mom and I provide everything I can to the best of my ability he does well for me and obviously I will push him more, just they say the time he is having off its not helping, well I would give anything for him not to of had the operation in the 1st place never mind being off but what can you do.

Shell xx
