I have to agree with you here Heather in what you are saying and I think the same applies at Alex's school last year he was a star this year he comes home and says he is a cracker amazes me at times how other children can get such a fantastic part. Alex did say something in the play an that was c is for cards and p is presents tied with a bow.
I was a little upset at work because I never take time off work and then I ask for time to see Alex's play and cant take it unless I give up my Friday which I dont think is fair to, but then saying that this Friday now Alex is at hospital so I cant do it.
Its gone now but you cant just forget like that.

Heather, i used to feel the same when it came to nursery , always felt that Alexander (being a quieter more serious child) was pushed to the back and they let the others shine in nursery productions.

Anyway now i just think , whatever, my son will shine in other ways........i hate the attitude of parents trying to get to the front to watch their child. I have explained to Alexander that i have to work and that it just means that i will be able to have an extra day off at Christmas to spend with him. He was happy with that.

I know that alot of the parents round here are taking both sets of grandparents, etc, glad i am going to miss all the madness.

Karolyn,

Well you and I are in the same boat I have explained I have to work over Xmas also but Alex did have his Nan and Grandad there which was nice but then I still hate the fact that I wasnt there. It does make you feel kind of bad when other Mom's are able to go and you cant be so flexible but there we go, the price you have to pay for working.

Had the Xmas show this morning and have to say I was bored out of my skull.

I know it sounds awful but Louise and her friend Jade and the rest of the class that didn't have main parts were just shoved at the side and occasionally stood up to sing. But again it was the usual kids that had the main singing parts and were up on stage. Most of the kids who were at the side looked bored.

They had recorder players and a flutist, but it looked like it hadn't been rehearsed properly and most of the time none of them seemed to know what they were doing. Jade's Mom had to leave a bit earlier, because of taking her youngest on a trip with the nursery, but I told her she didn't miss much.

If I'd have had the chance to leave earlier then I would have done, but I know Louise would have been upset if I wasn't there at the end.

Hopefully the girls will get a better part next year.

I went to see Izzy's yesterday bless they where so sweet although izzy didnt like it at all she sat there with a face on her and then started crying so the teacher took her off the stage and she sat at the side. took nanny with me and alexie who just kept shouting bell bell (thats what she calls izobele) the only one).

then when it finished and people where clapping alexie was shouting yeah yeah very funny moment.

I went again this morning neil was suppose to come but had to go into work alexie went to nannies so it was nice to watch it without someone shouting lol. and izzy was a lot better today she stayed on the stage and sang the songs, she was also one of the angels guiding the wise men xxx
