Karolyn,
I know the schools do not allow biscuits but I always send Alex with something sweet because if he doesnt eat his dinner then I know he's eaten something.
Today he had a small tub of Jaffa cakes.

But you can get those yogurt things that they squeeze and then how about raisins you can have the yogurt coated ones also.

You can buy the breakfast bars I know they are more like a breakfast bar but they are a snack type food.

How about carrots chopped up if he likes that kind of thing.

Today Alex went with his sandwich with cucumber and then a yougurt tube and jaffa cakes and a drink and its all gone apart from his crusts.

Shell xx

It is hard trying to decide what to put in and trying to vary it as much as possible.

The school doesn't have any restrictions regarding crisps/biscuits etc.

As well as their sandwiches, they usually have yoghurt and sometimes a small cake or a buttered scone.

Charlotte likes me to loose plum tomatoes in her lunch bag, as she eats them.

Karolyn - I think our school meals are £1.80 per day, but having to pay for 2 of them it does work out expensive.

Good on Charlotte tomatoes are very good for her.

Thanks Shell, have started getting frubes, and cheese strings. He isn't allowed Jaffa cakes, but he had a go ahead bar today which he liked. He loves fruit so i have no problem there, i just give him his treat at home now.

Hoping to save ourselves some money this term, and Alexander seems to enjoy packed lunch, he doesn't have to q up behind the reception children.

You know what Alex does like fruit also would love to send him to school with a plum and nectarine but I always worry about the stone. Whilst he always lets me have the stone at home or throws it in the bin I still worry that I am not behind him at school.
You could send him to school with the Dairylea Dunkers also Karolyn.
Heather - Alex loves toms too bless them and celery lol.

Gosh benjamin would have to come home for lunch if he was at alexanders school...lol
we are allowed to send crisps, jaffa cakes, cake bars and biscuits. some children take in pots of prepared fruits, cheese strings, yogurts, and those lunchable packs where they make up there own 'sandwich' with crakers cheese and ham

Braden has a packed lunch and although his school say that crisps, chocolate etc. is now allowed, children do take them!!

Braden will have a sandwich, frube, cheese tri-bite and a piece of fruit. He then either has a cereal bar, jaffa cake tub, penguin or 2finger kit-kat. Oh, and a drink of course. I don't give him crisps as I don't buy them!

I used to give him carrot sticks or cucumber sticks but he nearly always brought them home again untouched.

Some schools sounds quite relaxed on what they can have....

They both always have a carton, sandwiches, a piece of fruit....then I will add a few of the following too.... cereal bar, yoghurt, jelly, cheese strings, cheese chunks, mini pepperami, mini chedders, bag of carrot sticks, toms, cucumber, breadsticks, raisins, fruit strings, cocktail sausages, dairylea dunkers, mini pizza's,

School dinners are £2 here too, they tend to have one a week when its Pizza!

Does anyone here qualify for free school dinners? on alex's letter it does say you may be entitled to them, so I may ask when I next go. The only thing is he doest stay every day I would rather take his lunch least I know what he's eaten.
He so loves milk roll bread, does anyone else buy it for there children?

Shell if you are entitled, you dont have to have it everyday, just need to let them know. Also at our school they do school packed lunch, sandwich, fruit and also a biscuit...you could have that as free dinners.
