Hi, hope everyone is ok. I know it's been quiet on here recently, but hopefully that will change when the kids go back to school. ![]() As you might know, last week we were at Butlins Minehead and had a good time. Kids were a bit of a nightmare sometimes, as there is so much to do there and it doesn't come cheap! So you have to try and limit what they go on, so I had a few mood swings and they really were unbearable for the 1st couple of days. We actually had to sit them down and explain that Mommy & Daddy can't afford for them to go on every single thing The caravan was nice, virtually a brand new one. Although I did feel like I was walking on eggshells a little bit trying to keep everything nice, as we have a refundable deposit coming back to us and didn't want to jeapardise that! Luckily there were no spillages or breakages. The weather wasn't too bad, quite warm on most days and we did have some rain here and there, but nothing too major. Both of them suffered travel sickness, Louise on the way there and Charlotte on the way back. Cleaned most of it there and then, but the car does need a good clean now. Had a bit of drama on the last night. Charlotte was out playing with a couple of young boys from a caravan opposite and one them was swinging her round in an aeroplane spin and dropped her. She fell on her shoulder and was in bits, she couldn't lift her arm for quite a while. The medical had closed, but I called reception and they sent a first aider round who very kindly took me and Charlotte to Minehead hospital which is just up the road (Lee stayed in the caravan with Louise). Did all the checks on her etc and gave me a bottle of paracetomal and gave Charlotte a dose of Nurofen. They put her arm in a sling. They couldn't xray, as the xray department was closed. So they said we could come back for 10.00am the next day. But as we were going home the next day, they gave us a copy of the notes they had written, in case we needed to take her to A & E at our local hospital when we go back. She is definitely better and the swelling has gone down. Lee spoke to the parents of the boys (I think they were cousins actually) and when the boy was asked why the girl had gone running back into the caravan crying, he said that she'd fell over. Lee wasn't nasty to them, but the parents weren't happy, especially as he'd lied. They said they would call at the caravan to see how she was in the morning, but we said there was no point as we were going home tomorrow anyway. They had just arrived on the Friday I think. I have posted my photos on Facebook. The red teddy on there was given to Charlotte by the nurses at Minehead hospital which was kind of them. Sorry to the people who posted comments on the original album on my Facebook, I had to delete it and upload again, as Picasa uploader screwed it up. For those not on Facebook, I will post the link in the private forum. |

thanks for asking. She has a bit a lump there, going to see how it goes. She doesn't have any pain with movement, she's just been playing on the Wii with both hands!

Sounds like a good holiday too. Loved caravan holidays as a child. Hark at Charlotte playing with the boys, hope she is ok now,. We had to sit Alexander down this year and explain about money, the children just get so excited and expect us to pay out all the time, and it adds up. |

Heather, thanks for sharing your holiday photos , loved them and the weather looked like it was good too. Enormous caravan, like a luxury home, and cute little beds for the girls. |

That sounds really good Shell and really cheap. I did price up next August in Butlins accommodation and it came to over £1,000. Minehead is quite nice and the town is only a short walk away from the site. |
