i knwo sam sadly his parents didnt give him any reason to think that anything was wrong they told him his was thick and lazy e.t.c hes ok with everydau things it just seems to be mainly reading he cant seem to look at a word and break it down in to bits to make to easier to to read he only see things as a whole. He lacks alot of confidence from being told he was thick from teachers and his parents.

His brother has serve dyslexia he cant read/write very well at all and has the reading/writing age of a primary school child even tho he went to a special school. our council didnt fund it and it was a school that failed pretty mcuh everything it passed enough to keep it open and that was it.

wow emma i have to say i didnt know dyslexia was to do with maths aswell i thought it was just reading/writing.
i have a mental bloke with maths, i struggle with even pretty simple maths problems and always have maths problems really drain me of energy, i cant for the life of me do them in my head!! even tho i have been sat down and my dad helped me alot i just cant get around them!

Alot of people don't know that... I was very good at reading from a young age and thats why it wasn't picked up in me.
To this day I can't do maths.. I dont even know my times tables, even thought i've tried so hard to learn them.

I'm the same.. Joshua has something called neurofibromatosis, and one of the things it causes is learning difficulties, so now i'm panicking in case he has dyslexia as well and I can't help him.

thanks for telling me about your expeirience of dyslexia emma, luckily tom is good at maths a lot of peole who have dyslexia have trouble with co-ordination and balance also but tom is very good with both of these too. its just the reading and writing, problems with his short term memory and organisational skills.

thank u sam even tho i did no about these things sometimes it just nice to know im still on the right track with it all.
