Croup

What a great first week of Jeff's R & R we're having!!

Balian has got croup and on Friday afternoon was admitted to hospital because he was working really hard to breathe He was given medication (steroids) to help him and also his temperature was 41 so they eventually got that down with calpol and ibuprofen and stripped him to his nappy. I stayed with him overnight and thankfully he was well enough to come home on Saturday morning.

He's still quite bad with the croup but his breathing has improved so that's a relief.

Now Jeff has D & V!

So he was up all night and he's still in bed now.

We were supposed to go to Essex this weekend to visit his parents and his mum was doing a christmas dinner today, but obviously we can't go.

Anyway, I just hope the 2nd week of his R & R is better than the first! We've hardly seen each other because of me being with Balian and now he's ill in bed!

Hello Nikki,

I am so sorry to read this message first of all how worrying with Balian he's been in and out of hospital a fair bit the last few weeks. But least he is improving you did the right thing to get him checked over and on some medication.

Oh no with Jeff I bet you are just feeling so low right now because you was so looking forward to this time and one thing or another its not been fantastic and a shame about the Xmas meal, the only thing is Nikki it cant be helped.

I just hope a speedy recovery for your boys and lots of hugs from us to you.

Ah Nikki, you all have been through the mill recently.

Hope Balian gets over his croup soon, it is horrible to hear our little ones having difficulty breathing. Am sure you are fragile at the moment.

And bless Jeff , he has picked up some horrible virus.

* * update from nikki * *

i have just received a text from nikki and unfortunately balian is back in hospital so nikki will be staying overnight with him.

It is not croup, the hospital have taken bloods to see what this reveals, they may also do a chest xray tomorrow. Temp was 41 again today but now came down, and to top it all he's got conjunctivitis.

I will keep you updated as and when i can, on a plus side jeff is feeling better he is looking after braden tonight.
