Default Daughter having problems at pre-school

Hi Everyone,

My 4 year old daughter is having a few problems at pre-school she attends 3 times a week, She has a slight development delay and attends speech therapy once a week, She is shouting and throwing a few tantrums throughout the day yet she seems fine at home well most of the time, I think she is finding it hard when people/kids can't understand her, Both days now when i have picked her up i have been told she is being naughty.

She keeps saying she wants to stay with Mummy not go to pre-school, She is very attached to me like my shadow at times.

Has anyone any ideas what i can do??

Thanks Kath xx

Hello Kath,

Right now it must be hard and frustrating for her but she is like the rest of them she just just needs some help every now and again. Maybe her way of dealing with things is to react the way she is.

Have you sat down and spoke to the teachers at the preschool Kath, it may be a good idea to sit down and speak to them to see if they can sit down and help you through this. If she is not like this at home then the problem lies with the preschool she goes to surely?

I think if she was to stay at home with you Kath it wouldnt help the situation but hopefully a bit of encouragement from you and your other half will do just fine.

Please let us know how you get on.

Shell xxx

Hi, Many thanks, I worry about my girls alot what with Ella with Autism and Sophie with a speech delay life must be hard for them at times, We give them plenty of love and attention.
I sat down with her 2 teachers today to explain about Sophie needing extra help it seems to have done the trick she has really enjoyed today came out full of smiles and also had a gold star in her book.
Hopefully its done the trick that she just needs that bit more help than most kids her age.
Thanks everyone, Kath xx

Kath,

Wonderful results that you have sat down and spoke to them, if they give her the help and support she needs then of course she will enjoy it more. I am so glad that you did this because it could of got worse and you could of ended up stressed with the whole situation, so glad she as had a good day and well done with getting a Gold Star.

Love
Shell xx

Kath, Glad to hear things are going better, i am just surprised that it has taken a meeting with you for staff to relaise that Sophie needs that little bit extra.

Bless her, the speech will come in time and once that happens she will take off, i can imagine her fustrations at the moment.

Maybe she is more than ready to start school!!!!
