The worse times I've had with the kids have always been mealtimes. Louise has had some tantrums and lay on the floor doing "the dying fly", and I have always ignored her and she usually comes round. Hasn't had one of those for ages.

Kids have been smacked before, but mainly sent to their room to cool down and can come down when they're ready to apologise.

My main gripe is when they spend a lot of time with Grandparents etc and the rules are never the same. Like with my Mom they are allowed to get away with murder and are more likely to get hugged if they are naughty. Like at mealtimes, it's a case of "I don't want any more", "ok then you can get down".

Luckily they are not spending as much time with grandparents, so this problem seems to have got better.

my 2 yr old daughter has become incredibly clingy, not even wanting to stay with her dad whilst i pop upstairs or go in a different room, she will scream until she s red in the face and almost making herself sick, this will carry on until i go to her or pick her up,i have tried ignoring it,talking to her and explaining where i am going before i go but, nothing seems to work,it just gets so tiring and i hate seeing her so upset, all this has just started out the blue. With my older child,i worked when he was this age and i dont remember having any of this at home with him,i know this will pass and i take it one day at a time,at the moment i just wait for it to happen ,not good for either of us so will be glad when this stage passes

hi there, i had this problem with benjamin but when he was a little younger....he wouldnt even let me go to the loo, i used to have to take him with me! It will pass, can you leave the doors open so she can see you in the next room? I know thats not always possible but worth a try if you are able.
