well a tough one here but at the end of the day they could look at it like Jayne says and think she doesnt want to go. If I was in the same situation and had nobody to look after my Son I would want to look after him myself, its only normal for a Mom to feel this way isnt it?
xx

How awful is this - the poor woman , i would want to be there for my kids , i would never put them into care and they shouldnt make her do it as it will also affect her child badly.hope they come to their senses and realise she is just thinking first about her child x

I know the Forces would not deploy a single mum if there was no-one to look after the child!

She obviously didn't communicate this properly to her commanders!

Keep in mind that this is the United States Army, who may do things a bit different than in your country. From what I see, she had a plan to have her child cared for in case of a deployment (her mother), who then backed out at the last minute. Being prior military myself, I know how stubborn the (U.S.) military is. In my opinion, they really need to be more willing to work with soldiers who have children. Maybe she missed this movement, but they could give her more time to find a solution and deploy her another time.

I agree Jason, that is what should've happened, they could've got someone to go in her place and then once she had childcare sorted out she could then deploy.

It's very wrong if they prosecute her!!!
