my daughter wants her ears pierced?

My daughter has asked if she can have her ears pierced,she is 6 but i dont know if its too young what do you think?

hi my daughter had her done on 6th birthday i did say it hurt plus u wont like it but on the day no promblem she was very good and had no trouble with them she is 8 now and no problem but it really is up to u

To be honest if its something she really wants done then I cant see any harm and certainly dont think its too young. What does your other half say about it? I would explain it will hurt but then once she's had them done now then she wont need them done again and I loved it when girls have their ears pierced but being 6 is a reasonable age. Please let us know what you decide to do. Lets here the views from everyone else, I think Lyn took Izobele to have her ears pierced and she was younger but dont quote me on it.

I had mine done when I was 7 so I think if she really wants them done and you're not against it then it should be fine.

At least she is choosing on your own - I don't agree with babies having ears pierced.

ouch....my mum said i had to wait until i was 16 and even then it hurt. My ear holes have now closed.

I think the way to look at it, if you think Jodie would be responsible to look after earrings, and her ears then why not. It is a choice, and like Nikki said when parents make that choice for babies that is what i disagree with.

Charlotte will be 6 in March and I have been thinking along the same lines.

I do disagree with babies having it done but Jodie is 6 and she has asked so atleast you can warn her it may hurt and she will know before going in.

I have always said that i dont mind my daughter having her ears done but she will have them done when she chooses and when she will understand that it may hurt etc. If it means getting them done at 6 or 10 atleast she can make that decision.

I dont think i would let my daughter have them done till she is at least 10 as they have got to look after them and it will hurt and they do get mucky if not kept clean , but its up to the individual , i also hate to see babies with it done thats just abuse x

My daughter is 6 also and if she asked me to have them pierced then I would personally say 'no' as I do think it is too young.

As everyone has said it is your decision.
