zach and olivia r off today for teacher training yyyyyyyyy do they have so many in the school year it not fair on teacher as they have alot of work on there plates already and the kids lose out by missing time off

Braden has the Monday off after half term for teacher training day.

Hi Jayne,

I would also like to know why they have teacher training but then I have a friend who is a teacher and they have to go on day courses etc..... and if a day course falls on a day thats a school day hence why it closes. Alex is at school and going onto fun club because he wanted to be part of the party and chinese new year so I have paid for him to go because they will also have a Birthday party for those children whose Birthday is Jan and Feb.

We haven't got any teacher training days this half term. I think they have one at Easter because the school is shut for 2 1/2 weeks.

heather like you we havent had one this term no doubt we will at easter.

I think the teachers having teacher training days like you said for courses and also team meeting i must admit teachers do have a lot of paper work when i wroked in the schools some teacher use to catch up on that and start planning for the next term otherwise they do at home and really especially if they have children it eats into there time with the kids im sure sam and jules will agree on this

Hi,

We have to have these training days because the government tell us to. The school year has 195 days, but 5 of those have to be for staff training so the children only have 190 days in school. Schools can choose when they have the days but sometimes it depends on when you can book people to come in to do training so that's why sometimes you get training days in the middle of the term. Daniel and Charlotte's school are having a training day in April in which they want some parents to come in to give their opinion of where the school is going ... but all of the parents will have their children at home so I'm not sure how that's going to work!
